Mountain Lily Bed and Breakfast

February 27, 2012 by Jigsaw Leave a Comment

The Mountain Lily B&B website has been managed by us for the last few years. MJ and Dave were recently looking to enhance their online presence by primarily updating the pictures, and wanted to increase the size of the images on the site to better portray the excellent facilities at their B&B.

They commissioned a local photographer to get some new photographs, which is always worth the investment when updating your site. We suggested converting to a WordPress site to give them the advantage of a robust content management system they could update themselves and also choosen for its flexibility and versatility in providing great ways to showcase images of the B&B.

Tip for Promoting your Business Online

September 26, 2011 by Jigsaw Leave a Comment

Key Elements you need for a successful online marketing campaign

Know your customers who they are, what they are looking for and where they are looking.

If you know what they want, and where they look for it as long as your business is there too, with the right product/service ahead of your competitors you will get business.

Setup an effective way to monitor your actions

Any money you spend on advertising and promotion is wasted unless you have a way to monitor the affect. You must be able to track how effective the ad campaign is, or you are not going to know if you want to repeat. Define your measurement criteria before starting and set up a way to measure.

Keep In Touch

Your easiest sale is going to be to your existing customer base; they already know and trust you. They have crossed the border form potential to actual clients. Just a friendly email once in a while will keep you in their mind, and even if they don’t need to purchase again they may remember to recommend you to a friend. It’s the ideal way to let them know about specials you have, new products/services, or tips they may find useful. We have a brand new service to manage your newsletter for you if you don’t have the time to do this, check out the full details here.

Time and/or money

The more time you spend on promoting the less time you have for actually earning money. Promotion, however necessary, is one of those tasks in business that in most cases doesn’t directly earn you money.  Saving a dime on marketing by doing it yourself may cost you more in the long run if you are not fulfilling orders. Save time by outsourcing projects you get the benefit of their experience, improve your results and save time.

Online presence

This may be in the form of a website, Facebook page, blog, listing on directories, mobile site, there are many variations to being online. You need a presence that gives your customers the easiest way to reach you and purchase your services/products. Be sure to choose a method your customers are comfortable and happy using.

Goals so you can measure if it was successful

Be clear what your goals are for the campaign, is it to increase your site traffic by 100 visits/month, get 10 inquiries, sell 50 widgets? This must be realistic and measurable. At the end of the campaign you want to know what your ROI was, so you know whether to repeat or try a new approach.

Cellar Door Wine

July 19, 2011 by Jigsaw Leave a Comment

Cellar Door Wine in Canmore, offer a wide selection of wines, spirits and beers, all personally selected for superior quality and flavour. It was important for them to be able to update and control content for the site. They also wanted a site that reflected the style and portrayed the knowledge and passion for fine wines of the staff. The site was coded with the latest search engine optimisation techniques to help with online and off line marketing efforts. From not ranking at all in Google we are happy to report it currently holds the number 3 and 4 spot for the popular term “wine canmore”.

BBCanmore.com

May 25, 2011 by Jigsaw Leave a Comment

The Canmore bed and breakfast association, have a very good database to store accommodation listings, maintain availability information and was receiving good website traffic. But the site was looking dated and needed a fresh look to reflect the wonderful choice of B&B’s and also showcase some images of the area.
We were inspired by nature for the colour scheme and developed the site around a simple structure making it easy for visitors to get the information they want when booking bed and breakfasts in Canmore.

Stella Alpina Bed & Breakfast

Anneke and Carmelo were looking to update their B&B website, focusing on the alpine theme. They wanted to showcase their many photographs, giving guests a real sense of what Stella Alpina, and Canmore has to offer. Home cooking, beautiful wood carvings, and the benefits of Anneke and Carmelo’s local knowledge. They are avid outdoor enthusiasts, with a wealth of local knowledge. It was our goal to portray all this in the new site. Working closely together has resulted in a new site that has much of the character and charm of Stella Alpina. We opted for a bespoke design around the popular WordPress content management system to give them the versatility to be able to maintain and update content whenever they needed to.
Adding in some extra features to enable guests to check availability, and leave guest comments.
